Willamette Week’s Burger Madness doesn’t include St. Jack’s bar burger with foie gras, which is a shame. Although it’s not on the menu, you have but to ask. And if you ask, you’ll be served a burger that blows the competition out of the water.
We love both La Moule and St. Jack, but travel had prevented our visiting these Portland faves until late February of 2017. This restaurant review tells what we found going on at these venues during this latest visit.
St. Jack is one of our favorite restaurants in Portland. It has it all… offal, fried foods, wonderfully bad-for-you salads, specials, and the opportunity to watch professionals at work in a relaxed atmosphere. Whether it’s happy hour in the bar or dinner at the chef’s counter, don’t fail to get to St. Jacks. And tell Chef Barnett hello for us.
Three of Portland’s best sous went head-to-head to determine just who is the best. And the winner is… Amanda Williams of St. Jack. Congratulations Amanda.
Our 2014 Winter Tour was a complete success. We went to great restaurants, markets, and sights. In fact, we had so much fun we had to break this post up into two weeks. Here’s week 1.
